Hey YouTuber Animators who switched to newgrounds becuz of COPPA


YOUTUBE WILL NEVER LET US PUT AN ANIMATION ON THEIR PLATFORM WITHOUT PUTTING IT "CHILD FRIENDLY" AND THEN DEMONETIZING US

YouTube can't get rid of COPPA. It's the law and has been for over 20 years. It's only rearing its ugly head because the FTC is becoming more aggressive in enforcement of the law.
But don't you worry your little head about this. Newgrounds is safe, as they don't collect data from their users, nor do their terms of service allow for children under the age of 13 to use the site. COPPA only affects sites that allow users under the age of 13 and collect user data.

COPPA is a good thing, it prevents the collection of data from people 13 and under. COPPA doesn't dictate what content is considered "for children" and it doesn't dictate what content should be demonetized. Those decisions were made by YouTube, they are harmful, and YouTube seems to be using COPPA to confuse people about who is responsible for these changes
